How has PAX helped parents and carers make a difference?
-
Short Breaks activities for children with special needs and disabilities in the school holidays – due to PAX involvement there are now more activities that children want to attend, and better support for a wider range of needs – PAX continues this work
-
We have ensured that the views of parents and carers influenced the development of the Xchange website – new in Poole soon
-
PAX gathered detailed feedback from local parents and carers for the government`s Green Paper consultation on Special Educational Needs (SEN) – this will influence the future way that children with special needs and disabilities are supported
-
We have been involved in developing the Poole SEN Policy, Poole Children`s Plan, revised Anti-Bullying Strategy, and plans supporting 18 year olds moving to adult services
-
PAX worked with health on improving the system of nappy supplies for children with disabilities
-
A system to routinely involve parents and carers of all children in Poole (not just those with special needs or disabilities) will soon be helping to improve all Children`s Services in Poole – PAX lobbied for this and will stay involved as it develops
-
and more.......
